Donate to the Roger Fund
Caroline's Kids Pet Rescue started Roger Fund shortly after they became involved in Roger's life. It all started on April 1, 2002 with a phone call from a concerned woman who had been feeding Roger on a regular basis but had not seen him for sometime. When Roger finally returned to her home looking for some food she noticed that he was favoring his back right leg. It was for this reason she was calling.
Just like the other calls we received, we took immediate charge of the situation and made arrangements to have Roger taken to one of our vets. Once there, the doctor would discover Roger's true plight.
Roger's back leg was shattered, and he was in need of immediate surgery to save the leg. This would include pins and wires but the doctor would be able to save it. A blood test found that Roger was FIV positive. This test result, and the major cost for surgery facing Roger, would have been a death sentence if Roger had been at any other shelter.
But that's what Caroline's Kids Pet Rescue does; it helps mend the bodies and improve the lives of so many cats every day. We're finding ourselves facing more and more critically injured cats each week, and the cost for these cats is extreme as we cut no corners for their well-being.
With this in mind, we were resolute in starting the Roger Fund. This fund was set up to help stray cats like Roger get the medical attention they need, and any money received into the fund can only be used for medical purposes for stray cats.
